Ancient Way Massage (90 min. - 1100 SEK, 2 hours - 1450)
Bodywork inspired and informed by Yoga, Ayurveda, Traditional Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Acupressure and Tui Na.
Ancient Way Massage is done fully clothed on a comfortable floor mat. Slow & deep rhythmic compressions, acupressure & gentle structural-corrective techniques are combined with assisted yoga stretches. The massage is done using my thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, and sometimes my knees and feet. These techniques free stuck energy, open the joints, relax tension, and elongate the muscles. In addition, the meditative quality of the massage soothes the mind and calms the nervous system. In this massage, the flowing transitions between positions, and the state of mind of the therapist are as important as the techniques used. It is said that a session is similar to the flow of a dance.
This is the single most effective form of bodywork for pain relief, relaxation and improving range of motion. My clients have benefited greatly from these sessions, and have had improvements with their muscular pain/tightness, joint problems and range-of-motion issues. This massage also helps with stress, poor circulation, respiratory problems, sleep issues, anxiety, immune system problems and adrenal burnout.
Ayurvedic Herbal Oil Massage (60 min - 900 SEK)
This bench massage is a deeply relaxing flow massage that integrates Ayurvedic abhyanga (Ayurvedic massage) with classic western bodywork techniques. In Ayurvedic abhyanga, long flowing stokes are paired with lymphatic drainage techniques to help remove accumulated toxins from the body. The use of authentic, luxurious, herbal oils from India adds to the physical, mental and emotional balancing effects of the bodywork. You will leave feeling deeply rested, rejuvenated and revitalized. This type of bodywork improves circulation, supports the immune system, reduces pain and provides a sense of well-being.
Yoga Stretch Therapy (60 min - 750 SEK)
Yogic self-stretching is an ancient traditional practice and part of Ayurveda and Traditional Thai Medicine. The stretching exercises and poses range from simple stretches to very difficult advanced poses. Yogic stretches and joint mobilization exercises are used in an Ancient Way massage session along with the deep, rhythmic compressions and acupressure along the 10 energy liens. In a Yoga Stretch Therapy session, the entire focus is on the stretches and joint mobilizations. It is essentially a “lazy man’s yoga”, because the client is passive and completely supported in all positions by the therapist. It also serves as an introduction to the deeper work of the Ancient Way Massage, and is a shorter session for people who don’t have time for the full 90min-2 hour Ancient Way massage.
Pranadhara -(60 min - 750 SEK)
Abdominal, feet, hands and head massage. This is a unique and advanced Ayurvedic based massage + energy work session that balances the flow of prana (life-force energy), and the 3 doshas of Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Consultation (Tonic Herbs, Nutritional Supplements & Holistic Nutrition) - (Initial consult - 90 min / 1500 SEK, Follow-up-visits - 60 min / 600 SEK)
It can be very confusing navigating all the sources of information available about herbs and nutritional supplements. This is especially the case if you are suffering from multiple imbalances, are on pharmaceutical medications, and/or are simply unsure about where to start. Sometimes we all could use a little extra support and guidance.
A consultation can provide an objective perspective on your specific wellness needs and goals, a uniquely personalized wellness protocol, and support for your stress management strategies should you need a gentle push in the right direction. I work with an individualized / constitutional approach with a big emphasis on the gut-brain connection, and the digestive-nervous-adrenal system “axis”. After a comprehensive assessment, recommendations will be provided for foods, herbs, and other select nutraceutical supplements that are specific for your individual constitution and current needs.
I primarily work with rejuvenating, harmonizing, and system balancing tonic herbs & mushrooms that are taken on a regular, and often long term basis, for enhanced vitality, adaptibility and well-being. Additional recommendations for supportive mindful eating, breathing techniques and other mind-body balance promoting practices are also suggested in my holistic approach.
Breathwork & Sacred Sounds Meditation (60 min - 750 SEK)
In these sessions you will learn breathwork techniques that come primarily from yogic pranayama and Ayurveda. We will also work with sacred sounds (known as bija mantras) and visualization techniques. When we breathe correctly, and consciously, we can better face life's challenges with peace of mind, and clarity of mind. With breathwork and sacred sound meditations, you may experience improved sleep, increased energy levels, mental sharpness and focus, and improved physical performance.
